Overnight at the Damal Hotel.

Day 2:Hargeisa - Laasgeel - Berbera

Morning drive to Laas Geel, the most important rock art site in Africa. These caves contain some of the oldest cave paintings on the horn of Africa. The vibrant colors and well-preserved paintings are estimated to be around ten thousand years old. Continue driving to the coastal city of Berbera. Upon our arrival, visit a historical Ottoman Mosque and Ottoman houses. Late lunch was served at an Ottoman house.

Take a short boat trip to go hunt for shipwrecks in the Gulf of Aden. Relax and swim at an untouched beach, where local youth and families come and enjoy their downtime. (Due to local culture, ladies will need to cover their bodies while in water.) Tour the historic town of Berbera in the early evening, where you will find more Ottoman, Persian, and British architecture of historic interest. This will be a great chance for some amazing photographs at sunset. Overnight in Berbera Damal hotel or similar.

Day 3:Berbera - Sheikh - Hargeisa

This morning we further explore Berbera. After lunch we travel through the Golis Range of mountains to the town of Sheikh, gaining dramatic views of the plains far below. Near to Sheikh we visit the ruins of Ferdusa, a city dating from the 16th century. Afterwards we return to Hargeisa. Overnight in Hargeisa at Damal Hotel or similar.

Day 4:Hargeisa - Arrival in Djibouti (Djibouti)

When you arrive in Djibouti city, you will be greeted by an airport pickup and driven to Menelik hotel. If your arrival time permits, you will have a city tour; otherwise, you will stay in the hotel for the remainder of the day. Overnight Menelik hotel or similar

Day 5:Djibouti City - Lac Assal - Djibouti city

After breakfast, we then drive to Lake Assal, the lowest point in Africa. On our way, we also visit the Panoramic view of Canyon Adaleh and the Panoramic view of Goubet. In Lake Assal, the big salt field makes you feel like walking in nowhere land. The water has bright colors that change from time to time because of the sun’s reflection. The trip ends with a drive back to Djibouti City and overnight Menelik hotel or similar.

Day 6:Djibouti city - Asmara (Eritrea)

Upon arrival at Asmara International Airport from Djibouti, you will be taken to your hotel after completing customs formalities. You will have the opportunity to tour the city if time permits. Otherwise, you will remain at the hotel for the remainder of the day. Overnight in Asmara at Top Five hotel or similar.

Day 7:Asmara - Massawa - Asmara

In the early morning, we will travel to Massawa, a harbour town on the Red Sea. Once we arrive in Massawa, we will visit the archeological sites and buildings built by the Egyptians and Turks. After lunch, return to Asmara for the city tour. We will visit the National Museum of Eritrea and the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary. We also stopped by the Enda Mariam Orthodox Cathedral for a photo. In the late afternoon, we’ll visit Medebar, one of the most popular markets in the city.
