Tour Details

Somaliland and Eritrea are both located in the Horn of Africa, making them a perfect combination for a six-day tour of both countries. In Somaliland, visitors can explore the ancient port of Berbera in the Red Sea, the capital city of Hargeisa, as well as view the spectacular rock art of Laas Geel.

The vibrant colors and well-preserved paintings are estimated to be around ten thousand years old. Continue driving to the coastal city of Berbera. Upon our arrival, visit a historical Ottoman Mosque and Ottoman houses. Late lunch was served at an Ottoman house.

Take a short boat trip to go hunt for shipwrecks in the Gulf of Aden. Relax and swim at an untouched beach, where local youth and families come and enjoy their downtime. (Due to local culture, ladies will need to cover their bodies while in water.) Tour the historic town of Berbera in the early evening, where you will find more Ottoman, Persian, and British architecture of historic interest. This will be a great chance for some amazing photographs at sunset. Overnight in Berbera Damal hotel or similar.

Day 3:Berbera - Sheikh - Hargeisa

This morning we further explore Berbera. After lunch we travel through the Golis Range of mountains to the town of Sheikh, gaining dramatic views of the plains far below.
